Welcome to our litters page! We are a small, selective hobby hamstery that prioritizes the wellness and safety of our hamsters first.

The way we can improve the overall health, temperament, longevity, and type of our beloved species is through the combined effort of breeders working together. There are not many Roborovski hamster breeders in North America, and I am strong believer that we need more dedicated breeders to help the species and offer a good alternative for future pet owners.

Milkbun Hamstery: Purchase and Adoption Policy

Thank you for choosing Milkbun Hamstery. Our priority as a small hobby breeding program is to work toward our long-term goals for improving the temperament, health, and type of the Phodopus roborovskii through thoughtful selective breeding. As we often have pet quality Roborovski available, our priority as a hamstery is to place each Roborovski hamster in a home that supports its natural temperament, behavioral needs, and long-term wellbeing. By purchasing or adopting a pet from Milkbun Hamstery, the buyer agrees to the following policies:

1. General Care & Husbandry Expectations

1.1 Enclosure Size & Environment

Roborovskis are highly sensitive to their environment, particularly enclosure size, layout, and enrichment. For this reason:

• We provide enclosure size recommendations and setup guidelines based on age, temperament, group size, and observed behavior while in our care.

• If the buyer chooses to house the hamster in an enclosure significantly below or significantly above the recommended dimensions, or declines to follow essential husbandry guidance provided by us:

• The buyer acknowledges that behavioral changes, increased stress responses, and temperament shifts may occur.

• The buyer accepts full responsibility for any behavioral or temperament issues that arise as a result of the environment provided.

Examples of environmental impact include, but are not limited to:

• Excessive skittishness or freezing behavior beyond the typical adjustment period

A Roborovski’s willingness to interact with its owner is influenced by both genetic temperament and environmental conditions. Behavior outside the “typical temperament description” cannot be guaranteed if husbandry differs from our recommendations.

2. Health & Temperament at Time of Pickup

• All hamsters leave in good health to the best of our knowledge, exhibiting normal eating, drinking, and activity patterns.

• Lifelong health cannot be guaranteed; however, we remain fully transparent regarding lineage and any known genetic information.

• Temperament descriptions reflect behavior observed in our care. Temperament may change once the hamster transitions to a new home, particularly if the provided husbandry differs from our guidance.

3. Holds, Payment, & Cancellations

• A non-refundable reservation fee may be required to hold a hamster until pickup.

• Payment is due in full at the time of pickup.

• If the buyer cancels, the hamster will be made available to the next individual on the waitlist.

4. Lifelong Return Policy

Any hamster bred by Milkbun Hamstery is always welcome to return to us, at any age and for any reason. This ensures our animals never face surrender to shelters, abandonment, or unsafe situations.

However:

• No refund, credit, or discount is offered for returned hamsters.

• If applicable, transport fees for the return are the responsibility of the buyer.

• This return policy exists solely to provide a safe option for the hamster and shall not be considered a buyback program.

5. Breeding Restrictions

• All hamsters are sold as pet-only unless breeding arrangements are discussed and approved beforehand.

• Breeding a hamster sold as pet-only constitutes a violation of this agreement.

6. Transport & Pickup

• Local pickup is preferred.

• Third-party transport may be used at the buyer’s discretion.

7. Agreement & Understanding

By purchasing or adopting from Milkbun Hamstery, the buyer confirms that:

• The buyer has read and understands this policy in full.

• The buyer will provide appropriate care and follow recommended husbandry unless intentionally choosing otherwise and accepting responsibility for any resulting behavior.

• The buyer understands that Roborovskis, being naturally high-energy and environmentally sensitive, may exhibit behavioral variation between homes.

• The buyer agrees not to rehome the hamster without contacting us first to arrange a return if needed.
